I have selected a few projects here which show my creatviity, expertise and technical knowledge. These project also show my wide range of skills from design through to development in more than a few languages and technologies.
Arete International
Arete are an oil and gas training company. They provide specialist training programmes to workers in the Oil & Gas industry. Arete International are among the leading business development, public relations and consultancy companies in the UK providing strategic business services, training and investment consultancy. They leverage their expertise and that of their partners to the benefit of their customers including energy projects consultancy, training, public relations and business development.

The Project
Arete International needed an identity as well as an online presence. I designed their logo and their website. Their logo needed to be modern in order to reflect the digital age we live in. The logo needed to be simple so it can be used in many places...leflets, business cards adverts etc.
The website is built on Wordpress and is built with a custom theme. The website has training courses and training materials added via custom post types. The front end is built with Bootstrap, jQuery and Slick Slider.
Fast Link Training
Fastlink Training are a First Aid training provider with an extensive medical history, beginning in HM Forces and developing over four decades, internationally across the globe. Their staff have not only trained First Aid skills to others, but administered and utilised their experience and practical skills, helping Individuals, aid agencies, business and international organisations, in some of the most demanding environments across the world.

The Project
Similar to the Arete International project, Fast Link Training also needed a new logo and a website to promote their business. Fast Link Training mainly wanted to reach their customers via the internet. The logo works across multiple mediums so it can be used elsewhere which I regard as one of the minimums when designing a logo. The website is built on Wordpress and has a custom theme built with Bootstrap, jQuery and Slick Slider.
The website has courses, administered from the Wordpress admin. The website was developed while keeping costs for the customer to a minimum. It was a non-negotiable that the website would take bookings and payments. The courses have a max attendance and therefore can't be over booked. I was able to create a simple yet affective booking experience which combined custom post types for courses and bookings, custom fields on courses to keep track of places sold on each course and a PayPal checkout. Once a course is paid for, the website will log the booking and reduce the number of available places on that particular course.
Menicon, Specsavers and Vision Express

The Project
This project started out as a project for Menicon. Menicon are a leading contact lens manufacturer. A few years previous they had a contact lens calculator created for them and it was built on Wordpress. I had the task of upgrading it and making it work for modern browsers. It was originally developed for a much earlier PHP version.
I reorganised and refactored the code and integrated the calculator into Wordpress much more by creating a Lens custom post type and using custom fields to be able to attach prescription values to each lens. This created a much more enjoyable experience when adding new lenses to the calculator. Next I added support for other languages.
Once again I created a custom built theme and used very few plugins...I build Wordpress sites like this everytime.
Menicon sell their lenses to Specsavers and Vision Express. As a result I was also asked to rebrand and reskin the calculator for these two contact lens sellers.
Autoweb
Autoweb was established in 2004 to provide website design and lead generation services to car dealerships. Initial focus was solely on independent dealerships who remain vital partners of theirs. Some of their earliest client partners are still with them today. In the years that followed, they have experienced continued growth and now service hundreds of franchise dealerships in the UK.

The Project
Autoweb have a number of custom built applciations which they offer to their customers. Autoweb also have an ongoing project to rebuild and refactor their current applications into an all emcompassing offering. This new build is built using Laravel, VueJS and accompanying composer packages.
I was tasked with completing portions of this new build as well as develop other portions of the build from start to finish.
Method VM/Method XI
Method are a market leading provider of valuation and development monitoring surveying panel-management. They connect dozens of lenders to hundreds of valuers via a cloud based system.
Established in 2014 by Chartered Surveyors who had experienced poor panel management, Method set out to improve the panel management experience for all stakeholders.
The Project
I was tasked with adding and improving functionality to their custom built cloud hosted system. Using Laravel and VueJS I was able to build features into their current application while using Jira and Git to guide work through from conception to completion.
I also took a lead in redesigning and redeveloping their website with a strong focus on streamlining their content and user journey from landing onthe website through to contacting the business for
Barbour
Barbour has a presence in over 55 countries worldwide including the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Holland, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, New Zealand and Japan.
Collections cater for men, women, children and now even dogs! Broadening out from Barbour’s countrywear roots, today their heritage and lifestyle clothing brand produces clothing that is designed for a full lifestyle wardrobe. As well as jackets and coats, the Barbour wardrobe includes shirts, dresses, knitwear, footwear, accessories and more.
The Project
I was tasked with re-creating a few of their processes behind the scenes. These processes were re-created and presented in a web application form for multiple users to use at the same time. Processes which affect repairs to coats, jackets and garments, in season sales and future seasons sales applications and applications that create printed labels. I used all of my exprience to date as a PHP developer. I used the many years I have as a developer to create these applications. I also paid close attention to the UX and UI aspects of these applications to make it as quick and as easy as possible for users to make the most of these applications.
